"Tom's Diner" is a promotional single by Giorgio Moroder featuring Britney Spears from his album Déjà Vu.
Background[]
The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's song of the same name. In an interview, Moroder praised Spears' vocals and said that she did a "good job" with the song. Moroder also stated that Spears "sounds so good that you would hardly recognize her."

Lyrics[]
[Refrain: Britney Spears]
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
[Verse 1: Britney Spears]
I am sitting in the morning
At the diner on the corner
I am waiting at the counter
For the man to pour the coffee
And he fills it only halfway
And before I even argue
He is looking out the window
At somebody coming in
[Refrain: Britney Spears]
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
[Verse 2: Britney Spears]
"It is always nice to see you,"
Says the man behind the counter
To the woman who has come in
She is shaking her umbrella
And I look the other way
As they are kissing their hellos
I'm pretending not to see them
Instead, I pour the milk
[Refrain: Britney Spears]
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
