Hesam "Sam" Asghari is an American-Iranian model, actor, fitness trainer and ex-husband of American recording artist Britney Spears.
Relationship with Spears[]
Asghari and Spears relationship began in 2016 and ended in 2023. Asghari first met Spears on the set of her track "Slumber Party" music video in October 2016, where he cast as her love interest. The two quickly developed a romance and went public with their relationship in early 2017.
Asghari was a strong supporter of Spears, especially during her conservatorship. He shared messages on social media for her freedom. When Spears testified in court in June 2021, Asghari showed his support by wearing a "Free Britney" T-shirt.
In September 2021, after Spears' father filed to end the conservatorship, Asghari and Spears announced their engagement. The couple tied the knot on June 9, 2022, in a ceremony at their home in Los Angeles, attended by American singers like Madonna, Paris Hilton, and Selena Gomez.
However, in August 2023, Asghari filed for divorce for unknown reasons. After the divorce, Asghari announced a statement, saying: "After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always." Spears later wrote: "I couldn’t take the pain anymore, honestly."
