Background[]
In September 2022, will.i.am hinted at a collaboration with Spears on Good Morning Britain, stating that "there's been things in the works", but did not elaborate further.[1]
On July 17, 2023, will.i.am announced the collaboration on his social media, along with a snippet of the song and its pre-save link.[2][3]
"Mind Your Business" was announced on July 18, 2023 and released to streaming platforms and digital formats on July 21, 2023.
In an interview with Vogue, Spears said, “We worked on this song years ago, and it was time re-produce it and share it with my incredible fans.” will.i.am shared that the song "needed time", and that “Spears had some great input about the music, to add hip-hop elements that we incorporated into the final track.”[4]

Scrapped music video[]
Spears impersonator Ashley Pitzer revealed via social media that video director Michael Jurkovac contacted her to appear in the official music video with Spears's face deep faked onto her body. The director said he was filming the video with will.i.am in Cannes and wanted Ashley to shoot her parts in June 2023. Ashley said her agent asked for a contract and verbal agreement telling her that Spears had signed off on it but he didn't respond. Ashley declined the offer feeling that there were red flags. Plans for a music video were eventually scrapped.

- will.i.am revealed that Spears originally recorded the song in 2011, although backing vocalist Myah Marie said the song was intended for Spears in 2013 but was never recorded.[5]
- It's considered by fans to be one of Spears's worst songs.
- Many fans are convinced that the song is made with AI due to no acknowledgement by Spears.
- The song would be their fifth collaboration following "Big Fat Bass", "Scream & Shout", "It Should Be Easy" and a possible unreleased, unconfirmed song "Listen Close."
