"Crucified" (also known as "Crucify Me") is an unreleased song by American recording artist Britney Spears, intended for her fifth studio album, Blackout.
Background[]
"Crucified" was written by Evan Kidd Bogart and Kara DioGuardi. It was produced by J.R. Rotem.
The song was included on the tracklist of a Blackout Demo CD. However, the track, along with "Catch Me If U Can", "Rebellion", and "The Face", was not leaked for unknown reasons.
Spears possibly recorded the song in the same recording session as "Just Let Me Go" and "Everybody".
On May 10, 2019, the demo performed by Élan Luz Rivera was leaked online. You can listen to Rivera's demo here.
Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
Everybody just got the best of me
I'm feeling stupid, and damn right I should be
I'm hearing all your voices
Please just don't speak
And all I've got to say is (got to say is, got to say is)
[Pre-Chorus 1]
I'm feeling crucified, I'm feeling crazy
Only god, she knows why
Why I'm your lady
I guess i'm crucified
Do you like that baby?
And all I've got to say is (got to say is, got to say is)
[Chorus]
Crucify me, crucify me
Crucify me, crucify me
And I think that you can close
Was I married to the pulse?
Was I never ought to know?
Break my soul
And crucify me, just crucify me
[Verse 2]
Don't you hate it when you get that look?
Look in your eyes, bare it, open book
You're gonna flip the script now
But I can be your crook
And all I've got to say is (got to say is, got to say is)
[Pre-Chorus 2]
I'm feeling crucified, I'm feeling crazy
I'm backed up to the wall
Who's come to save me?
I don't gotta do or say anything you want
Imma turn it off when you try to turn it on
But you're standing in my way, you're standing in my way
You always gotta mess with what I say
[Chorus]
Crucify me, crucify me
Crucify me, crucify me
And I think that you can close
Was I married to the pulse?
Was I never ought to know?
Break my soul
And crucify me, just crucify me
[Chorus]
Crucify me, crucify me
Crucify me, crucify me
And I think that you can close
Was I married to the pulse?
Was I never ought to know?
Break my soul
And crucify me, just crucify me
[Chorus]
Crucify me, crucify me
Crucify me, crucify me
And I think that you can close
Was I married to the pulse?
Was I never ought to know?
Break my soul
And crucify me, just crucify me
