"Before the Goodbye" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears, from her third full length studio album, Britney. The song is a bonus track on the album.
Background[]
The song was written by Brian Kierulf, Josh Schwartz, Brian Transeau, Spears and an electronic producer named BT, whom handled production. BT contributed to various songs by Spears during the sessions, however most of them didn't get released. On the matter, Spears said she was dissapointed she didn't get to use the majority of the tracks, as they weren't going in the direction she desired. Notably, she mentioned the songs being on overseas releases.[1] The only song that ended up being released was "Before The Goodbye", which was a bonus track on various editions.
The song is thought to be partially unfinished. Due to Spears only recording the chorus and verses without a bridge, the choice of the chorus being repeated had to be made. To mask the unfinished parts, BT, apparently, added various elements to its production to help mask the unfinished parts.
