This article is about an upcoming project, and is currently lacking information.

BS10 (also known as B10) is a placeholder title for the unconfirmed and currently unreleased tenth studio album by American recording artist Britney Spears. While the album has not been officially released, there have been several developments and rumors regarding its production.

Background and development[]

In December 2021, Spears possibly hinted at a music comeback, writing on Instagram that a "new song is in the works."

Two months later Spears took to Instagram to thank her lawyer and teased "exciting projects", leading fans to believe that new music was coming. This excitement led in the release of "Hold Me Closer", her collaboration with British singer Elton John later that year.

May 16, 2023: Following the success of "Hold Me Closer", The Sun UK reported that Spears was working on a "huge duets album", with potential collaborators like Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Kim Petras and BTS. However, the report was unconfirmed and considered to be speculative.

June 10, 2023: American producer Caleb Stone revealed on Instagram that he and Norwegian duo Stargate had been "making beats" in Siberia for nine months in preparation for Spears' next album. The post was deleted, and the truth remained unclear.[1]

July 21, 2023: A source close to Spears told Daily Mail that she had enough material for "several albums" but would not release anything until her first official autobiography memoir, "The Woman in Me", had been published. The source also hinted at the possibility of "never-before-heard content," which might refer to unreleased songs from her earlier albums.

August 17, 2023: Extra TV reported that Spears was negotiating a deal with Sony for what could be an "epic comeback album." The same day, Page Six shared reports of an "upcoming writers camp" and that Spears was receiving songs from major artists, including some that could tie into her book release. These reports remained unconfirmed.

In October 2023, Spears revealed in "The Woman in Me" that she played around the studio and recorded 6 new songs in Malibu. However, it is unclear if these songs are legit and who she worked with.

December 29, 2023: The Sun UK claimed Spears was working on her first album in eight years with English singer Charli XCX and planning a release to mark the 25th anniversary of her debut studio album, ...Baby One More Time. According to the report, the project was being kept "top secret" and was expected to include a series of "killer songs." However, Spears later debunked these claims as false.

A source close to Rolling Stone mentioned that American and Canadian producers Jason Evigan and Cirkut were also tapped to present songs for the album, but there was no confirmation from Spears.[2]

January 3, 2024: In an Instagram post featuring an Italian painting, Spears declared that all rumors about her return to music were "trash." She also shared that she had been writing music for other artists as a ghostwriter for the past two years and was "very happy this way," reinforcing her decision to stay away from the music industry. The post was later deleted in February, leaving fans confused about her intentions.

May 7, 2024: XCX appeared on Watch What Happens Live and confirmed that she had been asked to write songs for Spears. XCX revealed that she wrote songs with Spears' team present in Malibu, but, after seeing Spears' Instagram post denying her involvement, XCX suspected that Spears was no longer actively participating in the project. XCX confirmed that Spears did not record the song she wrote.

May 21, 2024: Spears shared another instagram post where she mentioned having "a couple of exciting new projects" lined up, but details remained covered in mystery.

As of today, it remains uncertain whether Spears will release another studio album.
